Pre-Kindergarten Head Teacher (one-year position)

Job description

Location: New York,New York,United States Trevor Day School seeks candidates for a Pre-Kindergarten Head Teacher. This is a one-year position that may be extended. This faculty member is responsible for the homeroom life of approximately 12-18 students. They are also responsible for planning, implementing, and reviewing the Pre-K curriculum, in partnership with the existing Pre-K team and the administration. The successful candidate should be dynamic, energetic, and creative. This individual will join a team of colleagues, working in close collaboration with their Associate Teacher, another Pre-K teaching team, Specialist Teachers, and the entire Lower School (Threes–Grade 5) division. Responsibilities include: Developing a developmentally-appropriate curriculum for children aged 4–5 years old, built on social, emotional, and academic goals. Planning lessons and tailoring instruction to meet students’ individual needs. Mentoring an Associate Teacher and collaborating on curriculum planning and delivery.
