Job Purpose & Position Overview The purpose of this position is to provide direct patient care services in the Emergency Room (ER) Department. The incumbent plans, develops, coordinates, evaluates and delivers comprehensive direct patient care in the ER department at the Twelve Clans Unity Hospital to individuals across the lifespan. These decisions are made independently or in consultation with a physician based on the incumbent's licensure requirements. The expectation is to deliver quality ER care to the Community. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities: - Attends to all emergencies presented to the Emergency Room such as injuries caused by automobile accidents, assaults with weapons, other accidents which may cause serious harm. Stabilizes the patient, examines the patient to determine the seriousness of the illness or trauma. Determines if patient can be cared for within the facility or referred to another facility. - Is available for night, weekend, and holiday shifts as assigned and adjusts schedule to be available on short notice when assignment changes are necessary.
