DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse - The Psych Aide provides direct contact with each assigned patient to monitor responses to services & identify problem areas. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description. - Provides physical, emotional &/or cognitive patient care in an appropriate, safe manner. - Liaison with various departments of LCMH to patient safety and quality care based on patient needs. - Diligent Training - Utilizes effective crisis intervention techniques. - Demonstrates ability to conduct environment and patient safety duties (i.e.- room inspections, patient search, belonging searches, monitor visitors for contraband). - Communicates abnormal variances of physical data (vital signs, pain, etc.) to appropriate staff. - Emotional &/or cognitive data (tearful, hallucinating, etc.) to appropriate staff.
