Posted Date 9/17/2025 Post End Date: 9/17/2026 Job Description: This is protective service work at the trainee level in providing security and maintaining order within the courthouse for judges, attorneys, witnesses, jurors, prisoners in custody, defendants on bond, and the general public. The work requires knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures used in courtroom security, which involves the use of specialized skills, or specialized equipment, which is learned on the job or through specialized training. Contacts with others require skills in understanding human behavior and those factors which influence or cause behavioral changes, are critical to job success, and involves significant interaction with people at all levels within or outside the department. Work is follows standard operating procedures. Work is patterned involving similar situations and generally requiring only the choice of the correct procedure. Work is performed in a courtroom environment where risks and hazards are known, somewhat predictable and mostly controllable.
