Classification Title: Custodial Worker I Classification Minimum Requirements: Completion of ninth grade. Job Description: This position will ensure that Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience laboratories, and its various buildings are clean or orderly by: This position will ensure that all waste cans, trashcans, recycle bins and special event trash/recycling is disposed of properly. Nightly waste removal from the various Whitney buildings. Monitor cleaning supply inventory and communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor if supplies or equipment are needed. Wash state vehicles. Also to include periodic deep cleaning tasks as scheduled and needed. - Servicing, clean, and suppling restrooms - Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming - Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures - Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications - Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees - Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems -...
