DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Practice Manager and/or Practice Director - The Registered Cardiac Sonographer performs high quality diagnostic echocardiograms and vascular ultrasounds for outpatients. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The above statements are only meant to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description. - Performs high quality peripheral vascular studies for outpatients. - Performs high quality echocardiograms for outpatients. - Processes ultrasound studies resulting in high quality images in a timely and efficient manner. - Is knowledgeable of and implements procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines under ASE and the supervision of the cardiologist. - Gathers, sends and interprets clinical data as assigned per doctors’ orders to cardiology PAC system. - Documents legibly and charge daily procedures. - Handles other duties as assigned.
