About the role ETC field engineers support the practical delivery, installation, testing, and sustainment of emerging and specialist technologies as they move from development into trial, pilot, and operational use. The role contributes to innovation outcomes by ensuring that technologies are engineered, deployed, and supported in real‑world environments, providing feedback that informs feasibility, performance, and future scaling decisions. This position works across a broad range of technologies that BT is involved in, which may include networking, communications platforms, sensing and security technologies, drones and counter ‑ drone systems, and other experimental or early ‑ stage capabilities .
