Summary The Lead Technologist performs functional duties in the pre analytic, analytic, and post analytic phases of the laboratory path of workflow. This role is responsible for oversight of day to day operational functions for the assigned shift, including supervision, quality control compliance, and troubleshooting. The Lead Technologist assists the supervisor with monitoring test results, staff training, and competency assessments. This position complies with CLIA standards listed under 42CFR493.1463 for high complexity general supervisors. Essential Responsibilities: - Be accessible to testing personnel to provide on site, telephone, or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the Department Medical Technical Directors or provide alternative backup such as the Medical Director, department supervisor, or shift supervisor - Provide day to day supervision of high complexity test performance by testing personnel - Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained - As delegated by the Medical Technical Director or Department Supervisor, ensure that...
