Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings. - Perform modifications, upgrades, and new equipment/machinery installations. - Contributes to continuous improvement projects for the department and site. - Locates sources of mechanical and electrical problems by observing, listening, and using precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose problems. - Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools. - Determines changes in the dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used components and employing rules, calipers, micrometers, and various measuring instruments. - Ability to fabricate and repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. - Diagnose problems, disassemble components, determine the extent of necessary repairs, then repair, refit, or replace worn or damaged parts. - Dismantle, move, and reassemble special-purpose machines and equipment, requiring utmost care and accuracy in reassembly, alignment, and balance. - Prepare machine foundations.
