Position Overview : Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital is looking for an experienced, collaborative and professional Registered Veterinary Technician with a passion for emergency medicine to join our ER team . This position requires a driven individual with attention to detail and who is a self- starter and able to work in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate must be computer literate and have exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills. Critical thinking and problem- solving skills are crucial; you must be able to multitask, collaborate and communicate with co-workers efficiently, effectively and professionally. Key Duties & Responsibilities: - Triage patients, assessing vitals to determine stable vs critical - Induction, maintenance, and recovery of companion animals - Knowledge of common & emergent medications - The ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment - The ability to deliver exceptional client & patient service - Placement and maintenance of intravenous catheters, arterial catheters and central lines - Calculate CRIs, fluid additives and drug doses - Knowledge of fluid pumps and fluid setup, including syringe pu...
