Division: Ophthalmology (80001041) Department: Ophthalmology (90002103): Employment Duration: Full-time: Summary: The Optometrist provides comprehensive primary eye care services in an academic medical center setting, supporting Baylor College of Medicine's clinical, educational and research missions. This role delivers high-quality optometric care to patients in our Baylor Medicine clinic. They collaborate closely with ophthalmologists and interdisciplinary care teams, and may contribute to teaching, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives. Job Duties: Support educational activities for medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees, as appropriate to appointment type. - Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, diagnosis, and management of ocular and vision conditions. - Diagnose and manage refractive errors, binocular vision disorders, dry eye disease, ocular surface disease, and common ocular pathologies. - Co‑manage patients with ophthalmologists, including pre‑ and post‑operative care as appropriate. - Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic treatments within scope of licensure. - Utilize diagnostic testing (to support clinical decis...
