Job description

Job Description: This person is responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children, under the guidance of the Lead and/or Assistant Teacher. Assist in the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, in support of the program’s philosophy on early childhood education. Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required and must be 18 years of age. Experience with young children is preferred . Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all DSS-required background screenings in compliance with South Dakota Administrative Rules for Licensed Child Care Programs. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds . Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling to engage with students at their level. Outdoor supervision in various weather conditions (heat, cold, light rain). Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations, including physical intervention to prevent harm if necessary.
