Lead R&D manager, Quantum Algorithms (Optimization)

Job description

We are seeking an outstanding researcher to lead and advance Quantinuum’s work on quantum algorithms, with a particular focus on optimization problems . This role combines scientific leadership with hands-on research aimed at developing algorithms that can unlock the capabilities of future generations of Quantinuum’s trapped-ion quantum computers. The successful candidate will build and lead a new research team within Quantinuum focused on quantum optimization and related algorithmic challenges . In this role, you will drive research into novel quantum algorithms relevant to optimization and related computational problems, evaluating their performance against state-of-the-art classical approaches. The role requires deep expertise in quantum algorithms and strong familiarity with optimization and algorithmic methods more broadly. This is a player–coach role , combining individual technical contributions with leadership of a growing research team.
