Department of Oceanography Temporary Faculty Pool The Department: The Oceanography undergraduate program at Cal Poly Humboldt is one of only two programs in California leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Oceanography. Our program has an international reputation and we give every undergraduate student the kind of research experience most schools reserve for Master’s students. At Cal Poly Humboldt, our students learn by doing. We have both a fully-equipped marine lab and a true oceanic research vessel, the R/V Northwind, which is dedicated to undergraduate classes and research. Our students also get a broad foundation in mathematics, biology, chemistry, geology, and physics, as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Learn more about our department here!
