Job description

The Role: Euroclear are seeking a Legal Counsel to join their UK Legal Team. You will be part of a local team in the UK and will be part of a larger legal, governance and regulatory division located across multiple jurisdictions. The UK team is primarily responsible for supporting Euroclear’s UK securities settlement business (Euroclear UK & International) as well as contributing to the activities of the wider Euroclear Group. Responsibilities: - Develop an understanding of the systemic role of financial market infrastructures in the operation of the UK economy and the legal and regulatory framework supporting this. - Advise on new product launches and strategic initiatives. - Identify and advise on new laws and regulations that are relevant to the business. - Answer legal questions arising from operational queries from the business or external clients. - Update contractual documentation. - Provide legal advice and support the business and financial crime team on issues relating to AML/KYC issues and UK, US and EU sanctions.
