JOB SUMMARY The Journeyman Plumber performs skilled plumbing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across the Zoo’s facilities and infrastructure systems. This position supports both routine maintenance and complex plumbing projects involving potable water, sanitary sewer, gas, and specialty systems. Work is performed under general supervision and requires coordination with internal teams, contractors, and other trades to maintain safe, reliable plumbing systems throughout the campus. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including water, gas, waste, and sewer piping.• Install, modify, and repair plumbing fixtures, piping systems, pumps, valves, thermostats, controls, and related equipment.• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and identify leaks, corrosion, deterioration, or other plumbing-related issues.• Coordinate plumbing work with other maintenance trades, operational departments, and contractors; monitor contractor work as required.• Identify plumbing system issues and implement repairs or system improvements under the direction of department leadership.• Estimate labor hours and mater...
