Title: Assistant Attorney General, Consumer Privacy Unit State Role Title: Assistant Attorney General Hiring Range: Commensurate with Experience: Pay Band: UG: Agency: Attorney General & Dept of Law Location: Office of the Attorney General Agency Website: https://www.oag.state.va.us/: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties: This individual will analyze, investigate, and prosecute suspected violations of the new Consumer Data Protection Act, the Virginia Consumer Protection Act, and other state and federal consumer privacy statutes. In addition, the individual will have secondary responsibility for analyzing, investigating, and prosecuting violations of other state and federal consumer protection laws as needed. Must have excellent writing skills and be prepared to appear in the appropriate state or federal court in actions filed against alleged violators. Will also work with counterparts in other states and federal agencies, assist in drafting official opinions, and review proposed legislation.
