Job description

- Supports practitioners in providing direct patient care. - Rooms and prepares patients for examination and treatment. - Takes patients brief history and vital signs, documents timely in EHR. - Maintains efficient patient flow and keeps patients informed of any delays. - Performs routine medical testing: EKG’s, Phlebotomy and Point of Care Testing. - Monitors the patient’s condition, recognizes abnormal vital signs, and promptly reports changes to the practitioner. - Participates in daily huddles. - Determines priorities of care and demonstrates flexibility in responding to patient needs while completing assignments. - Completes all assignments unless otherwise directed by manager/clinical supervisor/lead. - Works as a team member in meeting the unit needs. - Seeks approval for reprioritization of more complex events deviating from original assignment. - Performs activities as needed without supervision. - Cleans, stocks and sets up rooms for arriving patients. - Checks for appropriate patient IDs including falls and allergies.
