Job description

Job Function: 01. Profiling / Transcribing: Reviews patient profiles to assure appropriate therapy based on patient specific information that includes at least the following: age, gender, diagnosis, co-morbidities, relevant laboratory values, allergies, height, weight and BSA, pregnancy and lactation status. Reviews and transcribes all medication orders including specialized orders based on approved protocols accurately and timely verifying therapy, correct medication, route, dose and frequency. Makes recommendations for alternate treatments when necessary. Records relevant information and drug waste in EHR. Job Function: 02. Dispensing Medications: Dispenses medications, prescriptions, miscellaneous items accurately and promptly. Processes requests via phone, window, fax, and computer in a professional and timely manner. Obtains medications when needed to provide optimal patient care using economical or alternative options and taking into consideration patient admission status (inpatient vs. outpatient).
