UNIT PROFILE: Forest 1, Seniors Mental Health Unit is an inpatient program that employs a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social worker, occupational therapist, rehabilitation therapists and recreation therapists. This program assesses and treats older adults with serious mental illness, mood disorders, and late onset psychosis with age related issues, which complicates recovery. The Program optimizes a variety of proven treatment strategies (pharmacotherapy, group therapies, psychoeducation) with the aim of controlling the symptoms, as well as supporting the recovery and rehabilitation of the older adult. Harbour North 1, Seniors Mental Health Behavioural Unit is an inpatient program that that employs a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Recreation Therapists. This program assesses, treats and manages individuals with a diagnosis of moderate to severe dementia who also have responsive behaviours associated with this diagnosis.
