Job Purpose & Position Overview The incumbent serves as a Public Health Educator with emphasis in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention for groups and the community. Responsible for developing annual health education program plan. Qualifications/Skills: Public Health Core Competencies for this Position - Assess individual and community needs for health education through surveys and collaboration with community health programs. - Designs, develops and assists in producing culturally relevant exercise, wellness, and other health promotion disease and prevention services and programs. - Responsible for planning and coordination of community wide health promotion/disease prevention for children, teens, adults and elders. - Develop and maintains cooperation between public, civic, professional and volunteer's agencies. - Serves as an advisor to community and tribal groups interested in the improvement of community health. - Prepares health teaching materials to be used in demonstrations, group discussions, public display, and health fairs for resources purposes. - Provides one-on-one interventions and health education to clientele per referral or by individual client request regarding...
