The Campus Planning Intern provides support to the department responsible for the design and construction of capital projects throughout the Emerson College campus. Reporting to the Director of Real Estate & Space Planning, the Intern will support the department’s efforts in conducting space programming, space layout and design, light renovations, departmental moves, and space and facility analysis. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Assist the Director of Real Estate & Space Planning to update the college’s space management and building model database to assure accurate physical space measurement and use data. Provide assistance with the analysis of the current space utilization and integrate into master plan, strategic plan and facilities planning issues. Make recommendations on improvements to layouts and space assignments. Perform space feasibility and fit studies. Attend user meetings, prepare meeting notes documenting space planning issues, draft scopes of work for planning studies (internal or consultant), prepare planning analyses, recommend and prepare solutions for space needs, prepare plans.
