This role involves the use of measurement tools, electronics troubleshooting, and computer operation. Key responsibilities include interpreting railroad documents to derive train speed information, reviewing and analyzing track measurement data for reporting, and operating hi-rail commercial motor vehicles. Additionally, the position involves some vehicle maintenance for rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles, along with regular housekeeping duties for safety and sanitation aboard government-owned survey vehicles.
