Job description

The Aircraft Mechanic I (Sheetmetal UH-60) Repairs and replaces aircraft structural components to include stingers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. - Repairs, fabricates, modifies and installs structural parts, forming blocks, and shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques. - Mixes and applies fiberglass materials. - Balances rotary-wing aircraft blades. - Makes emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures. - Uses common measuring tools, precision measuring gages, and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs. - Performs checks; carry out inspections and removal of components. - Mixes and applies primers and paints to aircraft surfaces. - Applies corrosion control treatment to aircraft metals. - Comprehends technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings. - Requisitions bench stock for repair of aircraft structures. - Prepares request for turn ins and repair parts and structural components. - Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools. - Performs final checks on assembly and in...
