Payroll Supervisor

Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for the planning, daily oversight, and performance of the payroll functional area within the Finance department. This is a working supervisor position that will provide oversight to day-to-day assignments within the respective areas, and will also complete required payroll reporting, communications, and projects. This is a strategic and tactical position of significant influence for maximizing the talent of a diverse and technical workforce. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide leadership and oversight to the payroll team, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and utilized. Serve as a highly proficient backup by performing payroll analyst duties as needed. Responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating federal, state, and local tax withholdings; payroll reporting; W‑2 administration; unemployment insurance; benefits premiums and arrears calculations; FLSA calculations and compliance; and timekeeping approvals and rules enforcement.
