WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Bridge Inspector! This role will work out of Tampa, FL About the Role: WSP is a global leader in engineering and professional services, delivering safe, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure solutions. Our Florida Structures Inspection team partners with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local agencies to ensure the safety and reliability of bridges and transportation structures across the state. As an Assistant Inspector, you’ll support FDOT‑compliant inspections while building technical expertise in one of the most important public‑safety disciplines. Key Responsibilities: - Assist with FDOT‑required inspections of bridges, culverts, overhead sign structures, high‑mast lighting poles, retaining walls, and other transportation assets. - Support inspections performed under FDOT Structures Inspection Manual (SIM) and National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) . - Collect and document field data, including measurements, defect identification, material conditions, and environmental factors specific to Florida’s climate (corrosion, scour, marine exposure). - Prepare FDOT‑compliant field notes, sketches, and ph...
