Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - Gouverneur Hospital Per Diem Department: GH Respiratory Therapy Sleep Lab Location: Gouverneur Hospital- 77 West Barney Street Gouverneur, NY 13642 Hours Per Week: Per Diem Schedule: 12 hour shift SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and Respiratory Therapy Director the Respiratory therapist performs all aspects of and assures continuity of quality respiratory care. Adhere to the professional standards of the National Board for Respiratory Care, the New York State Education Department and Gouverneur Hospital. The respiratory therapist at Gouverneur Hospital will be comfortable working in the emergency room, medical surgical floor and a transport setting. RESPONSIBILITIES: Must use initiative and independent judgment in critical situations. Uses knowledge to address adverse reactions to therapy or medications including respiratory distress and failure. Authorized to accept verbal and telephone orders from physicians for respiratory care.
