City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Overview: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Transitional Care Unit. This is a Full Time, Day Shift (12-hour shift) position. Hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm - Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week), with rotating weekends. Department Overview: This 9-bed Transitional Care Unit primarily cares for med/surg patients to be discharged within 24 hours. We are seeking new or experienced candidates to join our team! The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, supports independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse.
