Job description

INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments. Performs routine and preventive maintenance and repair of MARTA buildings and support equipment. Completes inspections of equipment and replaces or repairs mechanical units. The Journeyman Support Equipment position consists of five specific functions. The requirements listed below are representative of the general essential duties and responsibilities, as well as the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for each discipline specified. 1. Performs routine and preventive maintenance and repair of MARTA buildings and support equipment. 2. Performs repairs of fire lines, fans, pumps, and other support equipment located in rail tunnels. 3. Uses a variety of tools such as jack hammers, generators, drills, compressors and/or other tools as assigned. 4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
