A Day in your Life at MKS We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in backup, recovery, and data protection technologies to join our infrastructure engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise‑level backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on mastery of Commvault and Veeam, strong systems engineering fundamentals, and an ability to drive reliability and resilience across critical IT services. *Must live within commuting distance to Plano, TX. You Will Make an Impact By Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineering: - Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise backup solutions using Commvault and Veeam. - Evaluate, enhance, and continuously improve backup/restore strategies, schedules, retention policies, replication, and disaster recovery processes. - Perform routine and complex recovery tests to validate DR readiness. - Monitor backup infrastructure health, performance, and capacity; lead proactive tuning and optimization efforts. - Create and maintain documentation covering backup workflows, DR runbooks, and system diagrams.
