Project Engineer - Roadway

RK&K is hiring a Roadway Project Engineer to join our roadway design team in our growing DC office. Our team-oriented environment is supported by subject matter experts and experienced mentors that will help you succeed. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers to manage tasks with significant opportunities for growth and increasing responsibilities. Projects will include, but not be limited to streetscapes, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, roadway widenings, and resurfacings. Clients include the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), VDOT, USDOT, and several local municipalities in Maryland and Virginia. Essential Functions: - Assisting Project Managers in the preparation of contract plans, specifications and construction cost estimates on bicycle, pedestrian, and roadway improvement projects. - Working in a team environment and able to coordinate with multiple design disciplines to develop creative and innovative solutions to design challenges , and in preparing final design documents. - Apply DDOT, VDOT, MDSHA, and AASHTO design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes. - Designing roadway plans, profiles, typical sections, c...
