Job description

Job Summary:Working interdependently with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, provides a broad range of nurse practitioner services following established policies and protocols. Qualifications: Competencies: - Provides services to patients including but not limited to ambulatory care, taking health histories, risk assessment and cancer screening, performing assessments, diagnosis, and conducting health education and counseling. - Assess, manage and treat acute, chronic, benign, and malignant breast conditions. Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status. - Interpret breast imagery (ultrasound, mammogram, MRI) collaboratively with breast radiologist. - Interpret breast pathology collaboratively with breast surgeon. - Perform genetic testing based on NCCN guidelines, interpreting common testing results, and conducting counseling based on results. - Develops plans of care based on patient assessment ensuring appropriate follow-up in accordance with established nurse practitioner protocols. - Provides teaching and emotional support to patients and families. - Refers patients for fu...
