Description Summary & Objective: The Dietitian, Registered is responsible for the nutritional care and education of all patients/residents in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, through physician/nurse referral. Essential Functions: *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. - Reviews the dietary requirements of each patient/resident, as required, and assist the attending physician in planning for the patients/residents prescribed diet plan. - Ensure that all-interdisciplinary notes charted are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the patients/resident’s response to the services. - Participates in discharge planning, development and implementation of patient care plans, patient assessments, etc., as required. - Involves the patient and family in planning objectives and goals for the patient. - Plans normal and special diet menus as prescribed by the attending physician - Evaluate and ensure accuracy in the preparation of documentation.
