City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Overview: Sentara Community Care Center-Berkley is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Patient Care Specialist! Position Location: Norfolk, VA: Position Status: Full-time: Standard Working Hours: Monday-Tuesday: 8am-5pm, Wednesday-Thursday: 8am-2pm, Friday: 8am-2pm and Saturday 8am-12pm Must be flexible to work evening and weekends for event coverage and be willing to travel to sister locations if the need arrives (union mission, mobile medical homes, and chestnut location). Overview: Provides non-clinical support within the clinic/practice environment and ensures an exceptional patient experience by performing a variety of complex administrative tasks to support patient care delivery. Schedules appointments or outpatient procedures under general supervision, to include required coordination of referrals, resources, and pre-authorizations as well as communication with the patient and documentation within the appropriate systems.
