ABOUT THE JOB: Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide care in our Hospice department. This position provides general nursing care to terminally ill patients. The Hospice RN also assists in planning, implementation, documentation and coordination of patient care services to Hospice patients and families and/or significant others. This is a casual, on-call position with no set schedule. Responsibilities: Assess, guide, oversee, and develop the implementation of the nursing care plan. Collaborate with physicians, families, hospice team and patients to develop and implement the appropriate care. Assist families and/or significant others in understanding patients’ illness. Teach and evaluate personal care techniques in a home setting. Provide and supervise the care given to patients and their families, ensuring that it is delivered in a manner that preserves and protects the patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights. Document care given to patients so that costs and services provided are recorded accurately. Help patients and families/significant others understand provisions of Hospice Medicare Benefit.
