About the Unit: The Mount Carmel Grove City Labor and Delivery/Mother Infant has 9 labor rooms, 4 triage rooms, 4 PACU bays on L&D and 18 private rooms on Mother Infant. On Labor and Delivery, you will care for new moms through the labor, delivery, and immediate post partum period, you will care for newborns in their first few hours of life, you will prep, circulate, and recover cesarean section patients, and in rare cases you may need to help support moms who experience pregnancy loss at different stages of their pregnancy. On Mother Infant, you will care for new moms and babies after they recover on labor and delivery. You will help moms bond, breastfeed, and care for themselves and their newborns, you will do patient teaching, and will discharge moms and babies home once they are deemed ready.
