Description LOCATION: Wayne County Healthy Communities - Hamtramck, MI 48212 POSITION SUMMARY: The Vaccine/Medical Assistant position offered by SEMHA, plays a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient vaccine management at Wayne County Healthy Communities. This position will share in the responsible of all aspects of vaccine handling, storage, documentation, VFC (Vaccines for Children) program compliance, and clinical support. The Vaccine Medical Assistant will ensure accurate inventory, effective communication with state immunization teams, when authorized to do so, to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines, and supports clinical operations to provide high-quality patient care. VACCINE ASSISTANT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: a. Annual completion of VFC training for primary and backup coordinators. b. Help to ensure all staff involved in immunizations complete required training. c. Maintaining active knowledge of VFC program rules, storage and handling requirements, and documentation standards. a. Set up, calibrated, and function correctly. b.
