Description This position will work for the YMCA but at offsite pools in Punta Gorda and Arcadia: Punta Gorda: Seven Palms Apartments Arcadia: Peace River Campground: T he interview, swim test, and training will all take place at Franz Ross YMCA. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator/Director and in accordance with the policies of the YMCA of Southwest Florida, the lifeguard will be responsible for the ensuring the safety of all participants in or around the YMCA pool. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Completes related reports as required. - Maintains constant surveillance of the pool area. - Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff. - Displays professional appearance at all times and dresses according to requirements (approved swimsuit, jacket, and shirt). - Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
