JOB SUMMARY: The Internal Patient Transporter provides and coordinates with prioritization the delivery system for the Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, and Medical Record units using a beeper system and close, detailed communication between other internal transport Associates. Requires social maturity and poise to respond appropriately and communicate courteously and effectively with a wide range of internal personnel and general public. Must exhibit the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for transport of patients, charts, specimens, and miscellaneous items to and from all departments, for clinical and non-clinical areas. - Responsible for keeping all units informed of progress of the transport of patients to and from test sites. - Insures customer satisfaction by using proper introduction of self and identification of purpose of visit, responding to calls in a timely manner and promoting detailed communication between units to decrease lost information. - Exhibiting a strong work ethic and participating in studies for performance improvement. - Is competent in using all...
