Summary Under general supervision, responsible for carrying out broad assignments involving the purchase of important items, requiring extensive or specialized knowledge and experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Ability to request quotes and place Purchase Orders of low to medium complexity and process a high volume of Purchase Orders. - Ability to read and understand drawings. - Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment. - DOD procurement experience and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS). - Ability to seek and qualify alternate suppliers. Developing sources of supply where vendors and preferred suppliers are inadequate. - Ability to lead supplier negotiations (price, schedule, supplier exceptions to contractual flow down requirements, and terms and conditions). - Ability to conduct post-award management in accordance with company directives and work instructions. - Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion and program priorities. - Strong problem-solving skills as well as the ability to plan strategically while supporting daily tac...
