Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a key role in supporting providers and the care team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare within a managed care environment. The MA performs both clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and compliance with managed care protocols and quality metrics. Clinical Responsibilities: - Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient visits. - Escort patients to exam rooms, verify patient identity, obtain and document vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history in the electronic health record (EHR). - Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed. - Administer immunizations, injections, and medications under the providers supervision and according to state and clinic policy. - Perform EKGs, vision tests, and other diagnostic screenings as required. - Collect and process lab specimens; ensure proper labeling and documentation. - Maintain accurate and timely charting in the EHR, ensuring all information is complete prior to provider review. - Conduct pre-charting and ensure all required documentation, lab results, and preventive c...
