Initiates and ensures the quality of pharmacy and drug distribution services in all patient care areas. During their shift, assumes direct responsibility of medication distribution, IV admixtures and the safety & efficacy of prescribed drug therapy in accordance with laws and regulations governing pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy by the appropriate state and federal agencies. Provides drug information to medical staff and patients upon request or when the need is apparent. Routinely takes on added responsibility for assigned area, function, or specialty. Job Description: Essential Duties & Responsibilities : including but not limited to: 1) Clinically reviews and assesses all medication orders to ensure that medications entered into patient profiles are safe for administration.
