UNIT PROFILE: St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Charlton Campus has the busiest emergency department in Hamilton, with greater than 60,000 Emergency Room visits per year. The Emergency Department provides early access to care for patients from a widespread area extending from the Haldimand-Norfolk region to the Niagara Peninsula. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of registered nursing staff, the Personal Support Worker will be integrated in the unit’s model of care to provide direct quality personal care to patients. QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum Grade 12 Education and successful completion of a 1-year diploma program as a Certified Personal Support Worker - Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification - GPA and CPI certification preferred - Previous PSW/Customer Service experience preferred - Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills - Record of good attendance - Assisting patients to meet their basic physical, social, psychosocial and emotional needs in accordance with their plan of care - Provides personal care...
