The appointment will begin on August 16, 2026. The department is seeking applicants with research and teaching expertise in the areas of Probability or Mathematical Statistics. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in either theory or applications of probability and statistics, particularly those who can support the department’s expanding role in university-wide initiatives in data science, AI, and related areas. These initiatives involve faculty from multiple colleges at the University of Alabama, in addition to those housed in the Barefield College of Arts & Sciences.
