Job Title: Nurse Educator Department: ETW RRH Extended Care Admin Location: St. Mary's Campus Hours Per Week: 0 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm or 8am-4:30pm SUMMARY: The Nurse Educator is responsible for identifying, developing, facilitating and evaluating educational activities for nursing and clinical staff. This position provides opportunities to promote life-long learning for employees and lends to safe, quality patient care. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Facilitates the orientation process for all new nurses and patient care technicians in the acute care area settings. Develops, organizes and delivers all classroom orientation lesson plans. - Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support instructor status and provides regular class instruction. Supports staff educational needs for emergency response measures. - Provides ongoing educational needs assessment to identify relevant educational activities such as new diagnoses, new equipment, policy and procedure expectations, quality outcome data. - In collaboration with Director/Managers, provides support and education remediation, as appropriate. - Assesses staff competency levels and facilitates various methods to accomplis...
