Job description

Orion is recruiting an Estimator for our Houston office. Seeking a talented Estimator with 8+ years' experience working in Marine Construction and/or Heavy Civil Construction. This position is accountable for the preparation of estimates, takeoffs, and gathering information required for project proposals. Activities of the incumbent include working closely with the project team(s) to ensure success in the bid proposal and ward process. The incumbent must support the guiding beliefs and core values of Orion, which are centered on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork most importantly, with each built upon the all-important foundation of Integrity . SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reports to and works closely with the VP of Operations and the Project Management Team to help ensure success in the bid estimation process for marine construction projects. - Leads efforts to develop comprehensive plan and timetable to complete project estimates that may be assigned. - Conducts investigation of potential project site accompanied by job sponsor. - Prepares listing of bid items for review by the Project Management Team. - Performs quantity surveys to develop a basis for cost estimates. - Cont...
