Job description

Kent Homes is seeking an Estimator (Engineering), in commercial construction to play a key role in the preparation, coordination, and submission of competitive, high‑quality project estimates and proposals. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Estimator is responsible for reviewing commercial construction tenders and RFQs, preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, and coordinating the complete bid submission process. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, procurement, and external partners. - Review commercial construction RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents. - Identify scope, risks, exclusions, and opportunities within bid documents. - Develop detailed cost estimates based on contractual requirements, scope of work, drawings, specifications, and historical data - Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of materials, and scope documents to calculate labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs - Perform quantity take‑offs and pricing exercises in collaboration with internal stakeholders - Coordinate and manage the bid process, including kick‑off meetings, bid sched...
