Job Title Student Tutor I- Biology (TRIO) Agency: Texas A&M International University Department: Outreach and PreCollege Programs Proposed Minimum Salary: $10.50 hourly Job Location: Laredo, Texas Job Type: Student Worker Job Description: Job Summary: The Biology tutor will assist program students to improve their knowledge in Biology or related area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Handles routine office inquiries from employees and students. Assists in the day-to-day maintenance and responsibilities of the assigned department. Responsible for clerical functions including answering phones, filing, scheduling, organizing, etc. Other related duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities: Tutor individuals and groups in Biology or related area. Facilitate learning of course material. Model effective learning and study strategies for content mastery. Keep office hours at the TRiO office. Maintain written and electronic records. Maintain confidential records. Participate in on-going tutor training activities. Prepare reports.
