Title: Bag Screening Attendant Reports To: Vice President for Site Operations Associate Vice President for Security: Director of Security-Events & Exhibitions: Supervisors and Patrol Supervisors: Position Summary: Bag Screening Attendants serve as the first point of contact for visitors entering the Garden. They conduct safe, efficient, and customer service –oriented bag inspections in accordance with Garden policies and security best practices. Attendants must maintain a professional demeanor, effectively communicate policies, and appropriately escalate concerns . Specific Duties & Responsibilities: - Greet all visitors courteously and provide clear instructions on bag screening procedures. - Conduct visual and physical inspections of bags, packages, strollers, and other personal items. - Identify and manage prohibited items per Garden procedures. - Maintain situational awareness and report suspicious behavior immediately. - Use deescalation techniques during conflicts. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of screening areas. - Operate handheld metal detectors or other issued screening equipment. - Assist with crowd control during peak visitation and special events.
