Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer – Switchgear (UL 891) Location: Marietta, OH Job Type: Direct Hire Salary: Starts at $90,000+ (depending on experience) Position Summary: The Mechanical Design Engineer – Switchgear is responsible for the mechanical design, layout, and documentation of UL 891 low-voltage switchgear assemblies . This role owns enclosure layouts, structural components, bus compartment arrangements, breaker mounting, cable management, ventilation, and serviceability considerations, ensuring designs are compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with customer requirements. This is a highly technical, execution-focused role requiring direct experience with UL 891 switchgear design , strong CAD skills, and close collaboration with electrical engineering, manufacturing, and production teams. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop mechanical layouts and assemblies for UL 891 low-voltage switchgear - Create enclosure arrangements, internal compartments, breaker mounting schemes, and structural components Develop fabrication-ready drawings, including: - General arrangements - Sheet metal parts - Weldments - Bills of Materials (BOMs) - Ensure designs meet UL 891 requireme...
